March- Mow and Feed lawns, gardens and prepare for the spring splendor

April- clean garden beds, edge, note dead plants that haven’t overwintered, divide plants that are looking too mature

May- Plant Spring Planters, Mulch beds

  • Prune back dead winter kill on plants

June- Prune, get your beds ready for the heat of summer, mulch beds thickly to prepare for summer weeds, replace spring planters with hot loving summer annuals in pots

July- increase timezones on irrigation, weed and edge beds for summer get-togethers, deadhead

August- weed, feed, fertilize and prepare for fall plantings to get gardens ready for Labor Day

December- protect your broadleaf evergreens with burlap

January – remove heavy snow from evergreens such as ilex and buxus

February- prune fruit trees, evergreens, clean your beds if the snow melts
